Is it crazy to think positive?

Today I am working towards Greatness!

What if that is our first thought of the day? How would our day be? Imagine it, you open your eyes and you consciously make that choice to have the thought, “Today I am working towards Greatness.”

My friend Trish Censi of Horizon Realty shared that statement with me the other day after class. It is so simple, highly effective, and very profound and yet most of us do not have that as our first thought. If you are like me, your first thought may be, ” I forgot to get that report done yesterday - my boss is going to kill me.” Or even worse, “God, I hate Mondays!”

Many of us have heard, “What you think about, you bring about”, you can call it the Law of Attraction. However at Quest we often say it is not what we know, it is what we do with what we know. We know if we think positive thoughts our day will be positive, yet most of us will focus our minds on what we do NOT want, like more bills, instead of what we do want which is love, family and enthusiasm for life. When we have those things we realize how blessed we are to live where we live and have the opportunities that we have.

Once we begin to control our thinking and focus on what we do want, all sorts of things begin to occur, we meet people who we did not know that are able to help you with that project. That person that we speak to at the coffee shop offers simple advice that changes our path. We begin to use our Self Control – controlling our thoughts, which controls our emotions and in turn, those determine our actions, which drives our results.

Whether we have challenges in our lives or not (challenges are just opportunities for personal growth, and if you do not have a couple of opportunities maybe you are not pushing yourself enough), wake up and state out loud, “Today I am working towards Greatness!” Maybe your significant other will think you are crazy, but in reality crazy is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results, and what you are doing is changing your habit of thinking from neutral to positive and sometimes in today’s world it is seen as crazy to think positively.

Choose to have a Great Day!
