A Celebration of Volunteers

Get Involved Lake Country: A Celebration of Volunteers and Community Spirit returns on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Lake Country Community Complex (George Elliot Secondary).  This free community event runs from 9am – 12noon and is open to the public.

As a celebration, the event will include a Pannekoek breakfast from 9 – 11am sponsored by De Dutch Pannekoek House.  In addition, this family friendly event will include a bouncy castle, kids activity station, volunteer video and volunteer appreciation gifts.

For those looking to get involved in their community, it is the place to find out what opportunities are available.  Local non-profit organizations and clubs will be on hand to share information about their activities and causes.

“Volunteering is a great way to get connected to your community.  Maintaining social connections is an important part of our health and well-being,” says Stephanie Moore, Project Coordinator with KCR Community Resources.  “Volunteers are also vital to the well-being of our communities.  Volunteers support every aspect of our lifestyle from arts & culture, to health services, to sports and recreation.”

Get Involved Lake Country is a partnership with the District of Lake Country, Lake Country Art Gallery, Lake Country Health Planning Society, Lake Country Museum & Archives, Allan Brooks Nature Centre, and KCR Community Resources.  This is possible through the generous support of the District of Lake Country, Central Okanagan Foundation, Interior Savings, De Dutch Pannekoek House, 101.5 EZ Rock, and Kelowna Capital News.

All volunteers, and those interested in getting involved, are invited to attend.
