The Kelowna Cherry Blossom Triathlon is so much more than a swim, bike and run competition – the participants and organizers are also committed to giving back to those less fortunate living in our community.
From the 2018 Triathlon, $1,700 in proceeds were donated to the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign, making it possible for more children, youth and families to access a Y program that they otherwise would not be able to afford.
“The YMCA of Okanagan is doing great work in our community and we are proud to support them,” says Malindi Elmore, Race Director. “We want to ensure every local child has the same opportunity to participate in swimming lessons and health related programs so if one day they set a goal of completing a triathlon they can!”
Each year the YMCA of Okanagan is able to provide financial assistance to thousands of children and families so they have equal access to Y programs and services. This is only made possible through generous support from our community.
