More underprivileged families in the Okanagan are able to afford access to health facilities, child care and child and youth development programs thanks to the generosity of Raymond James Kelowna.
Proceeds from the Raymond James 3rd Annual Christmas in November celebration supported several local charities including the YMCA of Okanagan and the Kelowna Food Bank. The carnival themed event raised nearly $55,000 with over $20,000 being donated to the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign.
“Having a YMCA in our community means access to health and developmental programs and services for so many families who struggle financially,” says Brendan Willis, Branch Manager of the Kelowna Corporate Branch. “We are dedicated to our community; we support the culture and people that make us proud to call the Okanagan our home.”
“This incredibly thoughtful gift from Raymond James has made a significant impact for close to 200 children in need,” said Rhonda Zakala, GM of Fund Development at YMCA of Okanagan. “Last year, the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign provided financial assistance for over 3,500 local children and families with thousands more benefitting from free YMCA programs funded by our wonderful donors. It is because of caring community businesses like Raymond James that we are able to ensure everyone has equal opportunity to participate in our programs and facilities.”
