Tee-off for the SPCA

It’s almost time to tee-off for one of the most fun and charitable golf tournaments in the city.

The ninth annual BCSPCA Charity Golf Tournament sponsored by Power 104, Sunlife and Sunlife Global Investments is happening on Friday, June 13, at Sunset Ranch Golf and Country Club.

Heather Harrison of the Kelowna Shelter says over half a million dollars is raised.

“With that money we have been able to find 8200 animals their truly loving homes as well as spay and neuter over 4300 animals, and have rescued over 400 animals from unsafe  and neglectful environments.”

This year a new presenting sponsor is set to take over the event, Sunlife and Sunlife Global Investments.

Grant Hattfield with SunLife says the company has been involved with the tournament for a number of years.

“The big reason we do this is to give a voice to the animals that don’t have one, and all the proceeds go to the local shelter and actually looks after the community and animals in it.”

Harrison goes on to say that the BCSPCA does not receive any provincial government funding and relies strictly on the generosity of community supporters.

“This allow us to care for the many animals that come in our shelter on a daily basis.”

The tournament is sold out, but If your business would like to be a part of this event, sponsorship opportunities are available. Call Heather Harrison 250-575-5389 or email [email protected]
