Eat, drink, and be social March 1st

Kelowna foodies have marked their social calendars for March 1 as Kelowna's newest social event, DEVOUR, gets set to be unveiled at The Centre for Learning at Okanagan College.

The event’s promoter, Social Magnet Productions, is marketing DEVOUR as, a culinary showcase for social foodies, featuring the Okanagan’s best chefs, mixologists, winemakers, master distillers and purveyors of fine food and drink in a unique social setting.

"It’s a celebration of the growing culinary culture in the Okanagan and the social event of the year for people who love great food and drink", says Event Director, Holly Dober.

As an open tasting event, attendees will pay a single admission fee to indulge in this unique culinary experience. “It will be like a cocktail party, a fine dinner at the best local restaurant and a night on the town with friends, all rolled into one" says Dober, “Bring your appetites!”

In addition to the unique social experience promised to attendees, Devour will provide a stage for the Okanagan's best culinary talent to present their skills and products to discerning guests. "Expect to see only the best of the best presenting at Devour" says Dober.

All of the expected 50 presenters will be leaders in their field and will compete in a friendly competition in the categories of Best Bite, Best Sip and Best Pairing. Presenters will judged by an expert panel of judges lead by celebrity chef and Top Chef Canada’s guest judge Chef Vikram Vij. Attendees will also have the opportunity to cast their vote for people’s choice in each of the three categories using their cell phones at the event. "Everyone is a food and drink connoisseur" says Dober, "it will be fun for people to have the opportunity to vote for their favorites."

Kelowna residents have shown their appreciation for culinary focused events through sold out attendance at events like, the Westjet Wine Festival, Hopscotch and Taste of Kelowna. “Devour combines the best of all of these events with a focus on creating a really great social atmosphere” says Dober.

Tickets are on sale through the event's website at www.devourkelowna.ca

All guests must be 19 years of age or older.
