Our lives are directly impacted by the energy which permeates the essence of our being. This energy is a power that each of us hold within and often times do not allow ourselves to acknowledge it or share it with the people around us that need it the most. This energy is a light that says: "I accept you, and love you unconditionally." Could you imagine a world that revolved around unconditional love? This is the shift we have yet to see.

Recently, I was privileged to complete a charisma training course for hairstylists that educate within our industry. When my week began, I truly believed that I understood myself on a higher level and with my past personal growth had thought my ‘ego’ was always in check and this course would simply polish my wonderful skills. I was wrong.

You see, this course was not just about presentation skills and how to deliver information to an audience, it allowed me to see within myself and other people on a higher level. The room was filled with champions from my field, some of the top educators in Canada. When I saw this, the little boy inside of me crumbled and instantly said: "You aren’t of this level! These people are master stylists- the people you have always looked up to." Yet again, my ego that I have worked so hard to conquer took hold of my body in an attempt to tell me that I was not good enough.

Guess what? We all have that monkey inside of our heads that is judging us, and hindering us from achieving our dreams because we listen to it. This internal voice we call ego was created within the first five years of your life, and has molded your path today. Before the age of five, ego told us, "It’s not safe to cross the street" or "don’t walk in the woods at night." At this time ego was a protective shield that kept us safe. However, through our developmental years we unconsciously allowed ego to control our decisions and limit our advancement.

It was my turn to take the stage. There I stood at the front of the conference room, the halogen lights felt like a broiler oven blasting down from above. My only task, was to introduce myself and tell the group one interesting thing about me. I scanned the room examining the faces of my mentors, and stumbled through my assignment - in fact I had to re-do my introduction five times until I got it right. I felt like I was over my head and considered running from the room faking sickness for the remaining days of class.

The next day Carolle, the facilitator, explained unconditional love and the power that is gained when a group of people (who don’t even know each other) can connect outside of the spoken word. Is it possible to show someone you met yesterday that you accept them for who they are? Can you open your heart and with only a look share unconditional love? What would that feel like?

Carolle had us stand and one by one looked deep into our eyes and truly showed us pure love and acceptance. Words can not explain the energy that fills your body when pure essence is shared at this level. Now, it was our turn, one by one to give everyone in the room approval and love and in turn, received it back. Without a word we said to each other, "I love you for who you are, I respect you, you are perfect." In case you are a skeptic like many were this day: the temperature in the room (with air conditioning) raised three degrees - that is the power of energy!

Many of us have not experienced this amount of pure love ever in our lives. This kind of energy is the same that a rock star receives from their fans before a performance. In fact, I was reduced to tears - not because I was sad but because I knew that I was perfect and I was in the ‘know’. At this moment of seeing into another person's heart, I understood that my previous thought of being not good enough was not what anyone thought of me at all.

This power is within all of us to give and receive the unbelievable energy of unconditional love. When you can look into someone’s eyes and see who they really are and have them do them same to you, your energy will shift and you will never be the same. The world will change, for this is the future of humanity.
