Stockwell Day will remain the Member of Parliament for Okanagan-Coquihalla.
The federal Public Safety Minister easily held on to his seat, earning a larger margin of victory than two years ago.
Day picked up better than 58% of the vote, more than seven per cent better than 2006.
He was upbeat as he spoke with party supporters at the Penticton Ramada Inn following the election results.
“Thank you so much, we’ve got a great term ahead with a good mandate, I see good things for Canada, the country we love, the country we want to see continue to be strong and free and we are prepared to work hard to see that happen," says Day.
"God bless you, god bless this constituency."
Day says he’s pleased for the Prime Minister and pleased for Canada with his party receiving a significantly increased mandate.
