Ashley Tisdale's stalker appears in court

Ashley Tisdale's obsessed fan has pled no contest to stalking her.

Nicholas Fiore, who was arrested in June for violating the temporary restraining order she secured against him after sending her more than 18,000 tweets and showing up at her house, has been placed on probation for five years and must complete one year of outpatient counseling.

He must also pay $350 in fines and legal fees but will not have to serve any additional jail time after being credited for time already served, according to gossip website TMZ.com.

A criminal protective order - requiring Fiore to stay 100 yards away from the former 'High School Musical' star - will remain in effect for the next five years.

The 27-year-old actress, who recently got engaged to her boyfriend Chris French, was granted a three-year restraining order against her 21-year-old stalker, who she claimed had "mentally and psychologically harmed" her with his harassment, over the summer.

Following the news, a jubilant Ashley wrote on Twitter: "Today is a great day. I am so blessed to have such amazing fans. You guys always look out for me and are so supportive through everything. I love you all #grateful (sic)"

Nicholas was arrested on May 31 after violating his temporary restraining order by sending messages to the former Disney star on Twitter.
