Grown folks finally started going to the movies this weekend, and National Treasure benefited. Nicolas Cage's treasure hunt ended up on top of the box office with a take of 35.3 million dollars. This week's kid flick, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, was a close second with 33.5 million dollars. Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, which went into wide release after a November 12th limited release, took up the fifth place with a take of 10.1 million bucks.
At yesterday’s Grey Cup in Ottawa, The Tragically Hip did the Half Time show. South of the 49th and things get considerably bigger as, Sir Paul McCartney will perform in the Super Bowl halftime show in February. Super Bowl XXXIX (39) will take place on Sunday, February 6th at ALLTEL Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. Presumably, there will be no wardrobe malfunctions during McCartney's performance. This marks McCartney's second Super Bowl appearance. You may recall that he performed during the pregame show at Super Bowl XXXVI (36) in New Orleans in 2002 -- the first Super Bowl after the September 11 terrorist attacks.
His voice and his hair was all over Saturday Night Live this weekend and they may do a surprise show in the Big Apple. But we’re hearing that Bono has a fake head of hair that's even better than the real thing. This comes from Chris Martin of Coldplay. He claims that Bono hides his thinning hair by plugging it up with (Chris may be better know as the husband of Gwyneth Paltrow)In an interview with England's top music magazine Chris says, 'someone famous, some who knows, told me Bono's had a hair transplant. Can you believe it? Bono? Some of those tufts have been stitched in.'
