A musical icon brings her sound to the stage with the help of the Alberta Ballet Production Company.
Joni Mitchell's 'The Fiddle and the Drum' will be performed at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre January 19.
The production features ballet set to Mitchell's music and art.
Nicole Caron is one of the dancers with Alberta Ballet who will be bringing the show to Okanagan residents.
I got to collaborate with Joni last year when she was getting the show ready. She was in the studio for nearly three weeks and she sat down with us dancers and explained her songs and what she meant with them, says Caron.
She says the show is a full length half ballet featuring 14 songs.
It's one of the hardest I've ever done, the movement is very demanding and beautiful. The beat is constant.
Caron says the show consists of some group dances and some solos, but there is no one 'star dancer.'
The Fiddle and the Drum starts at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $30 for adults, $27 for seniors, $25 for students and discounts are available for members of the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society.
Call (250) 549-7469 for tickets.
