Foxx Signs New Thriller

With all the talk that he'd be half of the cotton wearing duo in an upcoming Miami Vice remake... Jamie Foxx has suddenly signed up for The Executioner's Game, a spy thriller about a black operative for an ultra-secret government organization who must track down and assassinate his mentor, who has become a baddie.

Insiders say newcomer Brandon James Routh has nabbed the coveted title role in Superman Returns. For most of us who have no stinkin' idea who he is... Routh's credits include regular gigs on MTV's Undressed, ABC's One Life to Live and guest appearances on Gilmore Girls, Will & Grace and Cold Case.

Even though the second season of The Apprentice is far from over - (12 candidates remain) - Donald Trump has confirmed the third installment is now filming. In his words, "It's going very well. It's a great group." For the record, Trump also said that last week's fired Apprentice, John Willenborg deserved to get the boot. Trump added, "He's a great guy, a terrific man in many respects. But it was not a good week for John".

Movie legend Dennis Hopper is headed to the small screen, teaming up with Matt LeBlanc's production company (Fort Hill Prods.) for a half-hour sitcom. Hopper will play what one insider calls "a groovy, free-spirited" dad who ends up living with his grown, much more conservative daughter and her husband. (Hopper's character also has a 2-year-old child, and his parenting style is different from that of his grown children.)

MEANWHILE: LeBlanc's company is also producing an untitled NBC half-hour series starring former 90210 babe Tori Spelling. We're told Spelling is set to play herself, which should no doubt make for more TV magic.
