The 12th Annual Okanagan Film Festival came to an end Sunday.
Audiences had the opportunity to experience films, documentaries, animation and shorts from around the world and those with a local connection.
After each show at the Paramount Theatre and the Black Box Theatre, as well as the Capitol Theatre in West Kelowna, people had the opportunity to submit their vote towards the Peoples Choice Award.
And this years fan favorite is "Under Our Skin" -- an exposé about the medical system and the untold story of Lyme disease which is a emerging epidemic larger than AIDS.
Other awards were handed out and the winners are:

- Best Canadian Documentary - Sledhead
- Best International Indie Feature Film - Air: The Musical
- Best Canadian Indie Feature Film - Lovers in a Dangerous Time
- Best International Short Documentary - The Sky is Angry
- Best Canadian Short Documentary - Down Here
- Best International Short - The Optician
- Best Canadian Short - The Rocket Man
- Best International Animation - A Long-distance Call
- Best Canadian Animation - Glitch
- Best Home Grown - A Light Obstacle
- Power 104 Music Award - Crystal
- Best BC Music Video Award - Highway IV
The Festival also held the Second Annual 48 hour film challenge. The contest was conceived to inspire creative amateur filmmakers from high school students through to senior citizens.
This year's winners were Jordan Choo, Jaci Benson, Jessica Kempe and Brydon Saukarookoff from Rutland Senior Secondary.
