John Ritter's Family Sues

The family of John Ritter has sued a Burbank hospital, accusing it of negligence in the death of the 54-year-old actor. Ritter's wife Amy Yasbeck and his four children, including actor Jason Ritter, filed the wrongful death suit in Los Angeles County Superior Court on September 3rd. The suit said Ritter died in September 2003 of a tear in his aorta. The suit alleges, that when he went to the emergency room complaining of chest pain, nausea and vomiting, he was misdiagnosed as having a heart attack.

Rob, a 32-year-old father of two from Plano, Texas, was the first to go down on the second season of NBC's "The Apprentice," which premiered last night. Rob's fellow teammates from Mosaic Corp. felt he didn't step up during their task -- which was to create a toy for Mattel. Rob was in the boardroom with project manager Pamela and recent Harvard grad Andy. After Trump dressed down Andy, he gave Rob the pink slip.

ELTON JOHN, DESTINY'S CHILD, LENNY KRAVITZ, TOBY KEITH, and MARY J. BLIGE helped kick off the brand new season of NFL football last night. The singers performed their various and sundry hits at a pre-game concert that was aired live -- with a ten-second delay -- from the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Jessica Simpson also performed for the show, but from a live televised hook-up from Jacksonville, Florida. Just in case you missed it, the New England Patriots -- defending Super Bowl champs -- beat the Indianapolis Colts with a score of 27-to-24.

Noah Wyle, the last continuous on-air link to the NBC medical drama "ER's" freshman season in 1994, seems headed for the doctor's retirement home. Wyle, who plays Dr. John Carter, told E! Entertainment Television on Thursday that he plans to leave the show at the end of this season.
