Collaborative workshops

The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan (ARTSCO) has partnered with Interior Health (IH) to create a meaningful body of artwork which will bring colour into the Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment Clinic in IH’s new Community Health & Services Centre, located in downtown Kelowna.

Professional lead artist and ARTSCO member, Tina Siddiqui, has designed a series of simple pieces that will be painted by community members during two free, artist-led workshops on November 27th.
Tina’s works are focused on natural forms in soothing, harmonious and uplifting colours that meet the guidelines set by the IH clinicians, and community members interested in learning about painting and wishing to contribute to the art pieces are invited to attend one of two workshops that will be held at the Rotary Centre for the Arts on Monday, November 27th from 4:30 to 6:30 and 7 to 9 p.m.

During these free workshops, participants will learn the principles of creating art for a therapeutic environment and contribute to the creation of the artworks for this special space. Clients of Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Kelowna will also have an opportunity to participate in similar workshops.
