Comedy at the Creekside

A comedy show at Lake Country's Creekside Theatre will bust ethnic stereotypes – and guts.

Come ready to laugh as First Nation comedian Howie Miller performs Friday.

Miller, a Cree native from Edmonton, has received acclaim across North America for his quick wit.

He's made numerous TV appearances and was recently featured on the Showtime special "No Reservations Needed." He's appeared on CBC comedy specials, at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and in his own half-hour comedy special “Comedy Now Presents Howie Miller.”

He can also be heard on CBC’s popular radio show “The Debaters.”

In 2010, he joined the “Pow Wow Comedy Jam” and earned Entertainer of the Year honours in 2011 from the National Indian Gaming Association as well as Comedic Performance of the Year at the National Indigenous Awards in New Mexico in 2012.

He's been nominated for a Gemini Award, a Canadian Comedy Award and a Canadian Screen Award for his writing and acting in the sketch comedy show “Caution: May Contain Nuts.”

Showtime is 7:30 p.m., and tickets are available at www.creeksidetheatre.com.
