HALL & OATES, DON McLEAN, and AL GREEN, among others, will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame tonight in New York. Being honored with special awards are STEVIE WONDER, NEIL SEDAKA, and ROB THOMAS of the band MATCHBOX TWENTY. Hall & Oates are being inducted into the Songwriters' Hall of Fame tonight in New York City.

Yesterday, we told you that reality show king MARK BURNETT was planning a rock version of American Idol, where the winner would get to be the lead singer of an already-established, internationally-known rock band. Well, now he tells Variety which rock band he's got in mind -- INXS.

'N SYNC's annual Challenge For The Children charity event will be held at the end of July in Miami -- the same place it was held last year. 'N SYNC member JC Chasez says that fans will get a special treat at this year's event -- a performance by the group.

And finally congrats are in order! ALANIS MORISSETTE is engaged to her boyfriend, actor RYAN REYNOLDS. The Ottawa Citizen reports that Alanis told her mom last Thursday that she and Reynolds plan to tie the knot. The couple have been together for two years. The song, Knees of My Bees, on Alanis' new CD, So Called Chaos, was inspired by Reynolds.
