New Pink Floyd music

A new Pink Floyd box set is to contain never-before released material.

The legendary prog rock band are to release 'The Early Years 1965-1972', which is a collection they have compiled from scouring the archives.

The rare music will stretch across 27 CDs totalling a massive 12 hours and 33 minutes of audio, and in addition the set includes over 15 hours of video all of which is separated into seven book style packages.

The 'Wish You Were Here' hitmakers have put together an extensive package that includes TV recordings, BBC sessions, unreleased tracks, outtakes and demos.

'The Early Years' marks the prog rockers first release since 2014's almost entirely instrumental 'The Endless River.'

The box set covers the formative period of the band from its beginnings with the late singer/songwriter Syd Barrett through to his departure in 1968 and the full-time arrival of David Gilmour on guitar and vocals.

In total, the collection includes 20 unreleased tracks, and seven hours of unreleased live audio.

The set also includes rare concert performances, interviews with the band - also comprised of Nick Mason, Roger Waters and the late

Richard Wright - and three feature films.

'The Early Years' is set for release on 11 of November along with a two CD 'The Early Years - CRE/ATION' highlights package simultaneously.
