Ballet Kelowna, the only professional dance company in BC’s interior, is now offering pre-professional training through the Okanagan Summer Dance Intensive (OSDI).
Situated in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, the 2016 OSDI will take place July 25 to August 12 at Ballet Kelowna’s new home at 2283 Leckie Road in Kelowna. The program offers a one-week, two-week or three-week intensive for intermediate level dance students and above.
“The training at Ballet Kelowna’s OSDI is designed to give young dancers a taste of what it’s like to dance in a professional dance company,” says Artistic Director and CEO Simone Orlando. “In addition to working with special guest instructors, participants will train alongside our company dancers and learn Ballet Kelowna repertoire.”
The program focuses on daily classes in ballet, pointe, repertoire, modern/contemporary and Pilates. A student demonstration is presented at the end of each week.
