Lady Gaga's Bowie tribute

Lady Gaga paid tribute to the late David Bowie at the Grammy Awards on Monday (02.15.16).

The singer - who has admitted to being heavily influenced by the star and even got a tattoo of Ziggy Stardust on her side just a few days ago - went through nine of his classic songs in a stunning six minute performance that ended with 'Heroes'.

Backed by Nile Rodgers, who produced Bowie's 'Let's Dance' album - Gaga sang 'Space Oddity', 'Changes', 'Ziggy Stardust', 'Suffragette City', 'Rebel, Rebel', 'Fashion', 'Fame' and 'Let's Dance'.

Her conclusion 'Heroes' drew a standing ovation from the star-studded audience at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Gaga channelled Bowie's Ziggy Stardust persona with a bright red wig and went through a number of costume changes.

David died last month at the age of 69 after a secret cancer battle and celebrities rushed to social media to praise Gaga's tribute.

Bette Midler tweeted: "Lady Gaga slays it!!! And there's the great #nilerogers...David Bowie lives. God, I miss him," while Ellen DeGeneres wrote: "That was so great. You're always going to another level."

Adam Lambert added: "Wow, love that facial mapping technology for the Space Oddity intro in your Bowie tribute."

Ruby Rose tweeted: "Wow @ladygaga stole the show".
