Jimmy Fallon was close to tears as he discussed David Bowie's death on 'Late Night' last night (01.11.16).
The 41-year-old presenter started his show with a discussion of how shocked and upset he felt at the passing of the musical icon, who died of cancer on Sunday (01.10.16).
He said: "He was a great artist. One of a kind singer, songwriter, actor, fashion icon, mad genius who also had one of the greatest senses of humor of anyone I'd ever met."
Jimmy went on to admit he and the 'Starman' hitmaker often traded jokes via email but he'd struggled to come up with something funny to say during his tribute.
He added: "So, I'm just gonna email you, David Bowie, and if you could check your email in space or in heaven, or wherever you are. You don't have to email me back."
Over on 'Conan', host Conan O'Brien remembered the singer for his sense of humor.
He said: "He was an incredibly nice person. He was fun and always funny."
The host then introduced a montage of his favourite moments with the 'Aladdin Sane' singer over the years, including a clip of him singing a lullaby.
On James Corden's 'Late, Late Show', the studio marquee read 'We can be heroes', while band leader Reggie Wattz donned Bowie's iconic Aladdin Sane make-up.
Speaking to Zap2it after recording, James said: "We wanted to honour [Bowie] in the best way we could.
"It's unbelievably sad. It's just so sad. What a career, what a life.
"He'll be incredibly missed, but what a thing to have given those songs to the world. What a life."
Stephen Colbert's 'Late Show' concluded with musical guest El Vy teaming up with house band Stay Human to cover Bowie's 'Let's Dance', while 'Daily Show' presenter Trevor Noah aired a clip of the singer discussing the importance of taking creative risks during the program's 'Moment of Zen' segment.
