On August 25, 2015 Lance Carr along with his exciting gypsy funk guitar style, will be opening for the Grammy Award winning Gipsy Kings at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

Lance is famous for Fusing a new style which has become known as " Gypsy Funk ". Fusing modern beats and grooves (played on guitar like a drum!) with Traditional Spanish Flamenco Guitar playing. If you appreciate music , especially guitar, this is one performer you don't want to miss.

Lance "Oscar" Carr has studied and played Guitar since he was a small child. Winning best guitarist in battle of the bands 1999 and his Flamenco guitar playing and abilities enabled him to win the CFG Malaga, Spain International Grant for a 1945-Marcelo Barbero Spanish Flamenco Guitar, and lessons with Professor Ruben Diaz of Malaga, Spain, a pupil of the Legendary guitarist Paco de Lucia. Lanza has released his Debut Flamenco Album "El Gitano".

After attending Pleasant Valley School in Vernon BC, he studied music at Trinity Western University, majoring in Classical Guitar and has furthered his studies in Jazz through Capilano College. Lance led the Trinity Western Guitar Quartet and honed his technique in Flamenco guitar as house guitarist for the Mexican Restaurant "Los Huesos" for 6 years. El Gitano's Repetoire ranges from Flamenco Classics like the Malaguena, to Sevillana's, Rumba's, Tango Flamenco, the Argentina Tango, Bulerias, Alegrias, and songs by Paco de Lucia, Ketama, Juan Martin, to the Gypsy Kings, to Santana, Jesse Cook and more. Lance has studied various Flamenco guitar methods from Spain for the last 10 years, and is already making a big name for himself!
