Finger Eleven to rock KCT

KeyNote Productions and Power 104 are excited to announce that Finger Eleven will be rolling into Kelowna for ONE NIGHT ONLY on Wednesday, October 28 at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

Finger Eleven is a Canadian rock band that first formed in their Burlington, ON high school in 1989 as the “Rainbow Butt Monkeys”.  The band has achieved a devoted following throughout their existence which began with money they won from a rock band search contest on southern Ontario’s 97.7 HTZ-FM’s “Rocksearch” competition.  By 1996, the group had found new management with Coalition Entertainment and in an effort to be taken more seriously, renamed the band “Finger Eleven”.  The name Finger Eleven comes from an earlier version of the song “Thin Spirits” from the album Tip.  Frontman Scott Anderson explains, “when everything is pushing you in one direction and your instinct drives you in another… that’s finger eleven.”

Their 2003 release, self-titled album ‘Finger Eleven’ was produced by Johnny K. This album includes the sleeper hit single "One Thing" which pushed the band into mainstream. The song was a hit on rock, pop, and adult radio charts; the success of the single earned the band its first US Gold Album (500,000 copies) and Canadian Platinum (100,000 copies). "One Thing" reached No. 16 in the U.S., and had exposure on TV series’ Scrubs, Smallville and Third Watch.

Finger Eleven's fifth studio album titled ‘Them vs. You vs. Me,’ was released on March 6, 2007, again produced by Johnny K. "Paralyzer," the album’s first single, became the band's most successful single to date, earning them their first career Top Ten hit on the U.S. Hot 100 in November 2007, and reaching No. 1 in both Canada, and U.S. rock charts. In addition, ‘Them vs. You vs. Me’ won the 2008 Juno Award for Rock Album of the Year.

When Finger Eleven decided to start writing the follow-up to their 2010 album Life Turns Electric, the band members all agreed they wanted to do something different, they just weren't exactly sure what that was. So, over a two-and-a-half year period, they decided to try a bit of everything over a multitude of writing sessions.  As the members pored through the material they had written, they agreed that the best songs, the ones that rang truest and were the most natural, were the more aggressive ones. So, instead of spit-polishing the mixes and layering the tunes with heart-rending guitar arpeggios and keys, they toughened up, building muscular walls of riffs and performing with a forcefulness and energy reminiscent of their early days.

The result was ‘Five Crooked Lines,’ the band’s sixth studio album; and first album in five years.  Now on a North American tour in support of that album, Finger Eleven is armed with their familiar, aggressive sound, reminiscent of their original vibe, eager to share their new music with their fans and get back onto the tour circuit.

KeyNote Productions & Power 104 are proud to present Finger Eleven LIVE in concert at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 8:00pm.  Tickets go on sale beginning Friday, August 21 at 10:00am and can be purchased online at www.SelectYourTickets.com, by phone at 250.762.5050 or in person at the Prospera Place box office.
