Kanye West's bizarre requests at Oxford University speech

Kanye West reportedly requested raw asparagus, bottles of water with the labels removed and a full-length mirror after he was invited to speak at Oxford University last Monday.

The 37-year-old rapper came up with a bizarre list of demands ahead of his half-an-hour speech at the prestigious Oxford Guild Society at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.

Guild Chairman Abbas Kazmi told The Tab newspaper: "He wanted Volvic water bottles with the labels removed, a small veggie platter, hummus, and hot water.

"He also wanted a small variety of tea bags, double espresso available to be made if requested, and raw asparagus.

"He asked for a full sized mirror too. We couldn't buy one at short notice .... So one girl on committee just had to carry hers out of her room. He's an interesting guy, but it was all quite bizarre."

During the talk in front of 350 students, the 'Bound 2' hitmaker - who is married to Kim Kardashian West - opened up about his close relationship the US president Barack Obama and admitted the leader regularly calls him on his home phone.

Kanye also compared himself to the famed Spanish artist Pablo Picasso and admitted he'd like to become "greater" than him.

He said: "My goal, if I was going to do art, fine art, would have been to become Picasso or greater. That always sounds so funny to people, comparing yourself to someone who has done so much, and that's a mentality that suppresses humanity."
