Ryan Seacrest wants to marry

Ryan Seacrest wants to have a "great marriage".

The 'American Idol' host - who is dating 23-year-old model Shayna Taylor - admires the "fantastic relationship" his parents Connie and Gary have and hopes he can emulate it one day.

He said: "I look at what my mom and dad have had for 40-plus years - a fantastic relationship and great marriage.

"Someday I'd like that. They're my role models."

Ryan turns 40 in December and says he is "embracing" getting older as he thinks it is time to grow up.

He told People magazine: "[Hitting 40] is a turning point number where you go, 'Wait, you've got to grow up a little bit.'

"I'm actually embracing it!"

And the busy star is putting less pressure on himself and eased up on his workload in recent months.

He said: "Until recently, I felt I shouldn't ever have a day off and felt guilty going on vacation.

"That was pressure I put on myself. I've gotten a little more relaxed as I approach 40."

Ryan's relaxed new outlook has delighted his mother.

She said: "I'm happy he's come to that point.

"With this milestone birthday, I think he's saying, 'Is that all there is? I need to fulfill myself on a personal level.' "
