KeyNote Productions and Train Wreck Comedy are excited to present stand-up comedian and stuntman Steve-O on Thursday, September 4 at the Kelowna Community Theatre.
Steve-O (a.k.a. Stephen Glover) has become a household name when it comes to stunt-based comedy and it all started when he grabbed a video camera from his father’s closet as a teen to produce home videos featuring comical, dangerous stunts.
Born in London, UK, Steve-O traveled to the USA to enrol in Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Clown College to become a professional stuntman. After graduating Clown College, he set out in Hollywood, pitching his home videos to producers and was finally discovered by Jeff Tremaine (Jackass Creator/Director/Producer) who was working on a reality show featuring stunts. In the year 2000, partnering with Johnny Knoxville, and friends, MTV aired the first season of Jackass which lasted until 2002.
JACKASS: THE MOVIE soon followed, along with the launch of Steve-O’s tour entitled “Steve-O Don’t Try This At Home”. Steve-O moved on to star in the MTV and MTV2’s show WILDBOYZ, competed on the hit show, DANCING WITH THE STARS, starred in JACKASS: NUMBER2 and JACKASS 3D, and went on multiple stand-up comedy tours around the world.
Known for his sometimes insane antics on JACKASS, Steve-O’s stand-up offers shock value in the form of verbal comedy with a few stunts thrown in, of course.
According to this stuntman turned comedian, if you enjoyed JACKASS, you’ll enjoy his comedy act. Having found his “stride” and “voice”, Steve-O has thoroughly enjoyed his transition into the comedy world.
This energetic, naturally hilarious comedian, Steve-O is bound to offer a unique and crazy night of laughs.
