Michael Jackson's ex-wife is engaged to his former producer.
Debbie Rowe - who was married to the late 'Thriller' star for just under three years until October 1999 and had children Prince, 17, and Paris, 15, with him - is set to marry porn filmmaker Marc Schaffel, who worked with Michael on his charity single 'What More Can I Give' in 2001.
A source told TMZ.com that Schaffel proposed to the former nurse, 55, three weeks ago, but she only accepted after doctors confirmed on Wednesday (04.09.14) that she does not have terminal cancer and diagnosed her with an auto-immune disease, sarcoidosis.
Debbie confirmed reports she plans to wed her long-time friend and added: "He loves me, knows my kids, loves my kids, and we'll see where this goes."
But she insisted they haven't set a date yet.
A source revealed earlier this week that Debbie wants to be made her children's legal guardian and take responsibility for Michael's son Blanket, 12, who was born via surrogate, as she thinks their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, is too old to care for them properly.
The insider said: "Debbie is deeply concerned about the environment in the Jackson home. She likes Katherine Jackson but believes she has gotten way too old to serve as guardian."
But Michael's siblings Tito, Randy, Jermaine, and Jackie hit back at Debbie on Friday (04.11.14), saying: "[The children] are well loved and well taken care of. We are quite taken back [sic] that Ms. Rowe has decided now to enter their lives, after she abandoned her children many years ago for money
"Our only desire is to see our niece and nephews continue to go on with happy, healthy and safe lives. We will do everything and anything with in our power to help make that happen."
