Possibly Kelowna’s unsung heroes…”Fields Of Green” constantly amaze me! I’ve written about these lads before, and likened them to some high order British Art Rock groups, and as this group advances, new sides seem to appear. They display a very progressive side, much like the Prog Rock era of British music as well. Groups like early City Boy—and not to say they copy, because they don’t, but whether they realise it or not—they create in that same rich vein of music. Listen: simply said: “Fields Of Green” can simply Rock It or Melodic!!
The group is made up of multi-talented musicians, Kyle Tubbs; Lead Vocals & Guitars…Kevin Dreger; Keyboards/Bass & Vocals…Connor Tkach; Bass and Vocals…and Johnny Jansen; Percussion & Vocals. Now, not only are these four multi instrumentalists, they are very ambitious as well, what with recording their first album two years ago, on an Independent label TreeFort Music, and consistently pursuing their collective dream of ascending the musical staircase, not just nationwide…but worldwide.
Lately, the group may have been lying low; however they are showing signs of a major breakout! Although their second full album has yet to see the light of day, a fine EP accompanies their outstanding first record “Blanktown”. Logging on to their web site, and you can hear these fantastic rivers of music! Better yet, take a look at the Concert Listings below and find out where the lads will be playing in the next few weeks! And for us old Rockers, taking in a performance of “Fields Of Green” will bring back beautiful memories of the most exquisite performances of such groups as Genesis, City Boy and others!

Last week I let you know about the upcoming Boston release…just a reminder: December is the release date and the signing marks one of the largest for Frontiers Records.
Another major news item is that of the new solo effort from Roger Taylor of Queen! “Fun On Earth” will be released worldwide on the Universal Music Group umbrella label. As Roger himself has been quoted, “Fun On Earth” is a result of five years of writing—this should be an enormous release from one of Rockdom’s premier musicians!
