Avatar star aids accident victim

In a chapter I like to call ‘Celebrities Who Care’, actress Zoe Saldana (‘Columbiana’, ‘Avatar’) came to the aid of an elderly woman this past Wednesday after witnessing a car accident in Culver City, CA.

Saldana immediately stopped her car and rushed to one of the vehicles involved to help the woman out of the car.
Saldana then proceeded to call 911.

An on-looker said that the actress sat with the woman, who was visibly injured, until the paramedics arrived.  She even walked back to the car while waiting to get the woman’s purse and sweater.

Saldana finally went on her way after help arrived, but not until she was sure the woman was going to be okay.

Joel McHale Explains the word ‘Prickly’

Joel McHale of ‘Community’ and ‘The Soup’ brings his special brand of sarcasm to the children’s world of ‘Sesame Street’, explaining to the kids what the word “prickly” means.

There are quite a few things that are prickly, such as: porcupines, cactuses, pineapple…  the list can go on, but I’ve already watched this video more times than a childless person should!

Is it just me, or does Joel slightly look like Freddy Kruger in the stripped sweater?  Maybe a bad wardrobe choice for a children’s show, but McHale seems to make it work!

I recently just watched the Modern Warfare (the paintball one) episode of ‘Community’ for like the millionth time the other night, and even seeing him tell a bunch of toddler’s what items are “prickly”, I can’t seem to get the visual of him in his underwear out of my head!

Halle Berry Stalker Gets 386 Days

28 year-old Richard A Franco, the man arrested outside of actress Halle Berry’s home in July after repeatedly showing up on her property - including trying to enter her kitchen when she was home - was sentenced this past Thursday to 368 days in jail after pleading no contest to the charges.

The unfortunate thing is that the man has already served half of his sentence!
Franco will also be placed on five year probation after his release as well as a year of psychological counseling.
He also is also ordered to stay away from Berry for the next decade, which just doesn’t seem like long enough!

Resident Evil: Retribution

Let me guess who the sponsor is for the new ‘Resident Evil’ flick: could it be Sony?
That’s just a shot-in-the-dark, as the new trailer almost looks like a HUGE commercial for the electronics company!

I get cross promotion (check out Morgan Spurlock’s ‘The Greatest Movie Ever Sold’ if you want to get a really good look at the business of product placement), but this looks to be a wee bit over the top!

I’ve mindlessly enjoyed the past four ‘Resident Evil’ movies, and this one looks to be on par with the rest; once you get past the ad that is!

The premise is still the same:  Alice (Milla Jovovich) wakes up in the Umbrella Corporation’s operations facility and must continue to take on a virus that is transforming the global population into flesh eating zombies.

As more of her past begins to be revealed, Alice struggles to hunt down those responsible for the outbreak, taking her all over the world, aided by new allies and familiar friends.

Oh yeah, and it will of course be in 3D!

The film is set for release September 14th.
