Beauty queen charged in riot

Sophie LaBoissonniere, the winner of a Miss Congeniality contest, is being charged for taking part in The Stanley Cup riots that took place over the summer.  Not so congenial if I do say so myself!

The 20 year old, three-time pageant contestant is accused of being part of a large group of hoodlums that burglarized a London Drugs store.

After taking home the Miss Congeniality title back in January from the Miss Coastal Vancouver pageant she stated, "It's a great way of expressing myself on stage,” a comment that has recently been removed along with her blog.  I guess she has found other ways of expressing herself!

Katherine Grefner of ‘Miss World Canada’ told news reporters that LaBoissoniere had expressed a keen interest in helping out children, and that she simply could have been acting out due to her mother’s illness, saying, "I do think that when people go through hard times and they're amongst maybe a mob mentality, their sense of judgment isn't the best that it could be at the specific time, but it doesn't necessarily make them a bad person.”

She went on to say otherwise, LaBoissoniere is an all-around good kid. LaBoissoniere is hoping to someday become an interior designer.  Hopefully the upcoming charges will not completely tarnish her future!

She is due to make her first court appearance on December 14th. She nor her family has made any comments regarding the incident.

So far only 25 people have been charged with over 60 violations from the June riot, including a water polo player from Maple Ridge who turned himself into police after pictures surfaced.

As the investigation continues, authorities are expecting upwards of as many as 700 people being charged for acts caused during the uprising.

Baby It’s Cold Outside, Chipmunk Style

Jimmy Fallon and former costar from SNL Maya Rudolph decided to put a hilarious twist on an old Christmas classic!

The two sang the song ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’, only Fallon had assumed they were singing another popular Christmas tune…  the Chipmunk Christmas song!

Also recently announced, Fallon will be putting out his second comedy album to be released next summer.

The album will include music and parodies that became classics on his Late Night show: performances such as Willow Smith’s ‘Whip My Hair,’ which had Fallon doing an impression of icon Neil Young, along with Bruce Springsteen and the recent rendition of the ‘Reading Rainbow’ theme as Jim Morrison!

Fallon’s first album entitled ‘The Bathroom Wall’ from 2002 had earned the talk show host a Grammy nod for the spoken comedy category.  Here’s to hoping he can top it!

Fallon will be hosting the show that gave him his start for the first time, ‘Saturday Night Live,’ on December 17th.

Who wants to Whip Their Hair?

‘The Grey’ hits Theatres on January 27th.
