CRIME: STOLEN VEHICLE/ARSON

DATE: October 2, 2012

RCMP FILE: 2012-55500

Kelowna RCMP responded to a complaint from the Kelowna Fire Department of a suspicious vehicle fire in a remote area of South East Kelowna. Members arrived to the Hayes Road / Ball Court location to find a vehicle fully engulfed in flames and totally destroyed. Investigations reveal that the tires and battery were removed prior to ignition. The vehicle was an orange coloured Ford Ranger, most likely a maintenance fleet vehicle.

CRIME: ROBBERY

DATE: September 29, 2012

RCMP FILE: 2012-55337

Police would like the assistance of anyone who can help to identify three robbers who accosted a man behind the Chevron Gas Station at 1890 Harvey Avenue at approximately 6:00 PM on Saturday, September 29. The man had just come from withdrawing cash from the TD Bank and stopped to buy cigarettes at the gas station. He was jumped by the men who sprayed him in the face with an unknown substance, punched him in the eye and then kicked him when he went down. A witness stepped in and helped to stop the attack. They left with his wallet and his green and yellow mountain bike. The first suspect is a black man wearing a black trench coat and sandals with socks; the second man is possible native, approximately 40 years of age, tall, with big hands and a long scar on his torso. The third man is a short and stocky Caucasian, short hair wearing a tied-dyed shirt and blue jeans.
