CRIME: RESIDENTIAL BREAK AND ENTERS

DATE: September 17, 2012

RCMP FILE: 2012-52346/52329

A couple of homes in Lake Country were entered and rifled through during the work hours of September 17, 2012. One home was located on the 2800 block of Robinson Road. Thieves came into the house from a poorly locked patio door and rifled through all the bedrooms; dumping contents of storage containers and jewellery boxes on the beds. They got away with about $1000 in jewellery, including 6 to 12 sets of gold earrings (hoop and chain dangling types), 4 gold bracelets and 3 or 4 gold necklaces. One of the necklaces was a hanging teardrop with a white pearl and the other had an Egyptian cartouche bar on it.

The next home invasion reported was located on the 10,700 block of Okanagan Centre Road West. Thieves pried open a rear patio door and again ransacked the bedrooms. They left with a MacBook Pro laptop, and older black iPad, about $3000 worth of jewellery and a glass jar full of coins.
