CRIME: SUSPICIOUS FIRE

DATE: August 28, 2012

RCMP FILE: 2012-47403

West Kelowna RCMP and fire crews were dispatched to a suspicious grass fire in a park area at 3465 Carrington Road in West Kelowna just before 3 AM on August 28, 2012. Two witnesses stated that they saw four or five males lighting paper on fire and throwing the paper onto the dry grass. 5000 square feet of grass caught on fire but was quickly extinguished by the West Kelowna Fire Department.

CRIME: THEFT FROM VEHICLE

DATE: August 27, 2012

RCMP FILE: 2012-47229

A black 2005 Dodge crew cab pickup truck parked in a driveway on the 1600 block of Pritchard Drive was broken into sometime overnight on August 26, 2012. The thief got away with a wallet containing all types of identification, bank and credit cards and $50 cash. A pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, a Bushnell spotting scope and 2 boxes of Winchester 270 rifle ammunition were also taken.
