CRIME: THEFTS FROM VEHICLES

DATE: June 14 & 15, 2012

West Kelowna RCMP have been inundated with calls and reports from residents living in various West Kelowna neighbourhoods. Thieves have been targeting vehicles both locked and unlocked and have made off with such items as iPods, work tools, money and license plates. There are also reports of damage to the vehicles, such as broken windows and key damage to paint. Tools stolen include a variety of Makita tools (combo kit, planer, hammer and nailer). The hardest hit area was Shannon Lake, with thefts occurring on Shannon Place, Karli Court, Shannon Green Court and Lakeside Court. Glenrosa, Rose Valley and the Boucherie area also had thefts.

CRIME: BREAK, ENTER AND THEFT

An employee of a pool business located on the 1500 block of Stevens Road in West Kelowna reported the theft of a Bobcat attachment. The theft most likely occurred on June 7, 2012. It is believed that access to the locked compound on the property was gained through a hole in a fence leading to a neighboring business. The attachment, worth $500- 700, is a tamper/packer and is used to pack down freshly dug dirt.
