CRIME: THEFT OF DUMP TRUCK

DATE: June 11, 2012

RCMP FILE: 2012-28971

On June 11, 2012 the owner of an excavation company reported the theft of a dump truck, flatdeck trailer and excavator from the 1900 block of Kane Road. The truck is a white 2006 Ford with BC plate number DY5431 and the trailer is a Ward Haul Flatdeck with plate number 01682D. Also stolen was a black and yellow 2006 CX50B Case mini excavator which was on the trailer.

CRIME: HOME INVASION WITH FIREARM

DATE: June 12, 2012

RCMP FILE: 2012-29220

Police would like to ask the public for their assistance to solve a violent home robbery that took place around 4:30 AM on June 12 on the 800 block of Martin Avenue. Witnesses reported hearing loud bangs and seeing 2 males leaving the location on foot. Two residents of the house left by vehicle and one resident was located in the house with injuries, mainly the effects of bear spray. The two who fled in the car were stopped and detained. A fourth resident of the house was later admitted to KGH with a gunshot wound to his torso. Police found a large quantity of marihuana in the home which police believe to be the reason for the invasion. The RCMP are asking for anyone who saw suspicious behaviour or have knowledge of the crime to contact Kelowna RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
