CRIME: THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE
DATE: March 19, 2011
RCMP FILE: 2011-11055 / 2011-11065
Lake Country RCMP were alerted to a rash of thefts from vehicles on March 19, 2011. One of the vehicles broken into was a Ford F350 parked on the 3000 block of Janet Road. It was locked and armed with an anti-theft device, but the thieves managed to create about $500 worth of damage to the ignition. They only got away with about $10 in change. Another complaint occurred in the 700 block of Commonwealth Road. A car was broken into overnight and the satellite radio was taken. The radio was later recovered nearby under a vehicle.

CRIME: STABBING

On March 15, 2011 at approximately 9:45 PM the Lake Country RCMP responded to a call of a stabbing that occurred near the IGA store on Highway 97 in Lake Country. The police found a 19-year-old male being treated by Emergency Services for stab wounds to his head and an injured hand. He was taken to Kelowna General Hospital and later released. Police Dog Services and the Forensic Identification Unit were summoned to conduct a search of the area with negative results. Police are looking for any information on the suspect who attacked the 19-year-old.
