RCMP are investigating three serious assaults in the Rutland area. Early Thursday morning, July 26th at 3:30 a.m, a single female was walking home along Rutland Road North. A male suddenly appeared from the side of the road, grabbing the female from behind.

The woman managed to scream and fight off the attack, and ran to a house for assistance. The suspect ran off and was not located. He is described as a Caucasian, 5’ 8” – 5’ 10”, bald, muscular, wearing a white shirt and grey sweatpants. A third incident occurred on July 28th, shortly after 1:00 a.m. An 18 year old woman was walking home from work near Houghton and Kneller when she was attacked from behind and pushed to the ground. She screamed and fought back and the attacker eventually fled on foot. This attacker is described as a white male, mid 20’s, 6’ tall with a medium to heavy build. His head is shaved or he is bald with a scruffy face. He was wearing beige shorts and a white muscle shirt at the time.
