Kelowna RCMP are investigating a couple of purse snatchings that bear some similarities. The first occurred at approximately 9:38 in the morning of Friday, June 29th on the corner of Brookside and Gordon Drive. The victim was walking eastbound on Brookside when a male passed by on a bike and grabbed the victim’s purse from her right hand. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, in his early 20’s, unknown height, approximately 180 pounds, wearing black pants, light coloured coat, and a black ball cap. The suspect was riding a bike.
The second incident occurred on the same day shortly after lunch. A woman and man were walking along Sutherland Avenue when a male on a bike came up from behind and grabbed the woman’s purse which had been placed in a basket in the front of her walker. The male suspect’s description is similar to the previous purse-snatching, above.
