CRIME: POACHING

West Kelowna RCMP and local conservation officers are looking for the public’s assistance to identify and locate an illegal hunter. In the early hours of October 7, 2019, a West Kelowna RCMP member was patrolling an area near Trepanier Road (near the overpass) and observed a large pooling of blood on the road. He then noted drag marks and followed them to an area where an SKS rifle with a camo sling was located lying in the grass. The killing occurred within the legal range to the highway and after daylight hours, most likely between 1:45 and 2:45 a.m. The deer taken is mostly likely a male mule deer. If you can help to identify the owner of this rifle, please contact West Kelowna RCMP or remain anonymous and contact Crime Stoppers.

CRIME: THEFT OF OUTBOARD MOTOR

A homeowner from the 3300 block of Gates Road in West Kelowna contacted RCMP on October 7, 2019, when he noticed the motor missing from his boat parked in the back yard. As he had seen the motor the previous day, it was taken between then and 10:00 a.m. on the 7th. The motor, a 2009 Mercury 9.9 hp with serial number 0R368940, had been attached to the boat’s transom with a padlock, which was cut.
