CRIME:            STOLEN BOAT MOTOR

DATE:              July 12, 2019

RCMP FILE:    2019-41765

Hey, Lake Country residents please take extra precautions with any outboard motors that are openly visible as there have been several thefts in the past two weeks.  The latest, a motor stolen from a boat parked on Cliffshore Court, was taken in the early hours of July 12, 2019.  The boat was backed up close to the fence as a precaution but thieves still managed to cut all the cables and remove the motor.  The stolen unit is a grey 2016 Yamaha 20 horsepower outboard, model F20LEHA and serial number 6AHK-1047338.

CRIME:            THEFT AT MOTEL

DATE:              July 15, 2019

RCMP FILE:    2019-42417

A robbery was reported by staff at a local Lake Country motel located on Highway 97 North just after midnight on July 15, 2019.  A male entered the lobby of the motel and attempted to steal a cash box.  The suspect, a Caucasian male 20-30 years of age, was spotted by an employee as he was using a tool to break into a cabinet.  A confrontation ensued with the suspect running empty-handed out the door toward the highway.  The suspect was wearing a black jacket, sunglasses and a baseball cap.
