CRIME:            ARSON

DATE:              November 14, 2018

RCMP FILE:    2018-70553

Kelowna RCMP fire investigators continue to look for answers after a potentially deadly blaze destroyed several vehicles parked outside a Pandosy Street apartment building on November 14th at approximately 4:20 a.m. Ten vehicles under a carport were fully engulfed in flames, gutting an exterior parkade and causing significant damage to the exterior of a 6 story apartment building, displacing over 100 people from their homes.  Video surveillance has been released that shows an individual on a bicycle who seems to light a vehicle with an accelerant. The jacket of the suspect appears to have a lighter coloured panel across the back. Police have canvassed for video surveillance in the area and ask that if you have surveillance footage from that time to review it and notify police if you see anything suspicious. If you have any information on this arson please send a tip to Crime Stoppers or contact Cst Kevin Hamilton at the Kelowna Detachment.

CRIME:           ROBBERY

DATE:             October 29, 2018

RCMP FILE:   2018-67400

Kelowna RCMP are hoping a member of the public can help them with a robbery that occurred just before 3:30 a.m. on October 29th.  A front desk clerk at the Okanagan Seasons Resort located on the 1500 block of Highway 33 West called police after a male entered the lobby carrying a knife and demanding money from the til.  The clerk handed over the money and the male fled northbound through the parking lot.  The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male in his late 20’s or early 30’s, approximately 5’11” tall and was wearing black motorcycle boots, blue jeans, a dark hoodie and a baseball cap with a black brim.  The suspect apparently had very bad body odor.

You can help catch these suspects and qualify for a reward by calling Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tips line at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit our website at www.crimestoppers.net.
