You could have the missing piece of the puzzle that will help the RCMP put someone behind bars.  Here are some recent crimes that Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers hope you can help solve by calling our anonymous tips line at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit our website at www.crimestoppers.net

CRIME:           ATTEMPTED THEFT OF PORSCHE

DATE:             August 18, 2018

RCMP FILE:   2018-50553

A resident of the 9800 block of Okanagan Road West in Lake Country returned home after being away for a week to discover that someone had tried to steal his grey 1999 911 Porsche from the driveway.  The would-be thieves tampered with the passenger window, front windshield and the side window.  The driver’s side front wheel well screws were missing and the trim was moved, which is how to unlock and disable a Porsche, however the car has larger tires and a lower suspension so luckily the thieves were defeated.

If you know anything about this crime, or any other crime, call the Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tips line at 1-800-222-TIPS or visit our website at www.crimestoppers.net.    Your information will be kept confidential and could lead to a reward of up to $2000.00.

CRIME:            THEFTS FROM VEHICLES

DATE:              August 14, 2018

RCMP FILE:    2018-49347

Several files were generated on August 14th when residents of the 12,000 block of Ponderosa Drive discovered thefts from vehicles and attempted vehicle thefts. The suspects used a piece of porcelain from a spark plug to shatter windows and a propane torch to melt the safety film to gain entry. The culprits were finally scared away when an alarm sounded on a truck they were trying to enter.  Stolen items included a Bazooka woofer, a radar detector, multiple heavy duty mechanics text books, Body Glove life jackets and Serengeti sunglasses.
