CRIME:           LOCK IT UP, LAKE COUNTRY

DATE:             August 5, 2018, August 8, 2018

RCMP FILE:   2018-47120, 2018-47157, 2018-47896

Another reminder to the residents of Lake Country….if you leave your vehicles or homes open, thieves WILL take advantage of it.  Lake Country RCMP were called on August 5th by residents living on Camp Road and Bernau Court who left vehicles unlocked and thieves helped themselves to wallets, golf clubs and electronics.  Across the highway on Twana Road thieves entered an unlocked home during the early hours of August 8th and helped themselves to vehicle keys and made off with two trucks from the property.   Missing are a 2002 silver Chevrolet Silverado Extra Cab with BC plate number BX7627 and a 2008 white Toyota Tacoma regular cab truck with BC plate number KH6730.

In addition to the cost and inconvenience lost property causes the owner, it almost always involves multiple fraud investigations for police, banks and businesses; unnecessary insurance claims and compromised identification leading to identity fraud.

If you know anything about this crime, or any other crime, call the Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tips line at 1-800-222-TIPS or visit our website at www.crimestoppers.net.  Your information will be kept confidential and could lead to a reward of up to $2000.00.
