CRIME:           BREAK AND ENTER / GAS THEFT             

DATE:             June 3, 2018

RCMP FILE:   2018-30234

West Kelowna RCMP has been dealing with a rash of gas thefts.  The thieves were caught on surveillance video on June 3rd at approximately 2:45 a.m. when they gained access to a sand and gravel company’s grounds located on Trepanier Road.  The video shows an older white or grey crew cab Ford F350 with a tidy tank and/or tool box in the back of the truck.  The thieves broke into a storage container and took approximately $3000 worth of tools and equipment and then siphoned over $1000 worth of diesel fuel from heavy machinery on site.  If you can help to find the drivers of this truck please contact Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers.

CRIME:           BREAK AND ENTERS TO WESTSIDE TRANSFER STATION

RCMP FILE:    2018-33792

There have been three recent RCMP files occurring at the Westside Transfer Station located on Asquith Road in West Kelowna.  On May 6th a call was made to report flashlights being seen at the station and banging coming from the scrap metal pile.  Police attended but the suspects fled. On May 23rd RCMP were once again called when someone entered the station and tried to steal a motor from a large dump trailer.  The suspects had entered through a hole in the fence.  On June 18th staff reported that a Homelite leaf blower was stolen from a sea-can sometime over the weekend.  Surveillance shows a male on a bicycle with a head lamp entering the premises and cutting the lock off the storage container.
