CRIME:            ARSON

Kelowna RCMP members were contacted by Kelowna Fire at 4:04 a.m. on September 14th when they attended a suspicious fire located behind the Mediterranean Market at 1570 Gordon Drive.  The fire initiated in a stack of pallets behind the building and quickly spread to an adjacent duplex.  The fire was extinguished with no injuries to the residents.  A man on a bicycle was seen in the area before the fire and police are interested in speaking with him.

CRIME:            THEFT FROM TRUCK

On September 14th a man contacted Kelowna RCMP from a hotel located on the 2600 block of Highway 97 North.  Sometime between 9:00 the evening before and 8:00 that morning $10,000 worth of commercial equipment had been stolen from the box of his truck.  The equipment had been locked in the box of the grey 2014 Ford F150 under a folding hard cover that had been picked open.  The truck had been backed in near the fence of a neighboring car sales lot and the grass was worn down where the thieves had moved the very heavy objects.  Be on the look- out for a Husqvarna S-13 Dust Extractor vacuum (s/n 900249K0009)($1850 value), a Husqvarna PG 450 grinder/polisher (s/n 20142200001)( $7000) and Diamond Tooling accessories for the floor grinder.  Several items with clothing and accessory items with “Husqvarna” logos on them were taken including XL and XXL blue t-shirts, grey and blue toques and grey and blue baseball hats.
