RCMP FILE:  2017-16864

An employee arrived at a winery currently under construction on the 2200 block of Goldie Road in Lake Country at approximately 7:00 a.m. on April 6th to find a white Ford van parked on the crush pad at the side of the building.  When confronted, the man said he had run out of gas, and then quickly disappeared, abandoning the van.  The employee discovered a 240 volt power cord for a new large grape de-stemmer had been cut with bolt cutters and 3 large yellow jerry cans of diesel fuel and a set of jumper cables had been taken from the building and put into the van.   The van, which didn’t start due to fuel pump issues, was missing from Kelowna and contained some stolen articles from the Vernon area.  Lake Country RCMP would like to identify this male suspect of interest who is described as being approximately 30 years old and 5’10” tall.
