CRIME:  SUSPICIOUS SHOPPERS

DATE:    March 2, 2017

RCMP FILE:  2017-10260

Staff at a drugstore in Lake Country took notice of a couple of well-dressed customers on March 2nd as they sauntered through the store for a considerable amount of time.  They picked up fragrance items from the shelves and concealed them in a bag.  At one point the man feigned making a purchase but then stated he forgot his bank card.   When he was stopped outside by staff who told him police had been called, he set down on the ground two boxes of perfume that had the plastic and security tags already removed and left the area.  The man is about 30 years old with bleached blonde hair, tall, slender and wearing grey pants, black suspenders, a black ball cap, dark sunglasses and carrying a large black jacket, a should satchel and towing a rolling suitcase.  The female is also around 30 years old with dark eyes and hair wearing a white toque and dark jacket with fur-lined hood.   There are no charges pending, but police would like to identify them as persons of interest.

If you know anything about this crime, or any other crime, call the Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tips line at 1-800-222-TIPS or visit our website at www.crimestoppers.net.    Your information will be kept confidential and could lead to a reward of up to $2000.00.

CRIME:  THEFT OF POLARIS ATV

DATE:    March 4, 2017

RCMP FILE:  2017-10560

An alarm sounded at a location under construction on the 14,000 block of Moberley Road in Lake Country just after midnight on March 4th  when the garage was entered.   When the owner attended the residence he found his grey 2004 Polaris Sportsman ATV was missing from the garage.  Thieves gained entry to the garage via scaffolding that was on the property.  They went through the garage roof vent then broke through the ceiling drywall.  The suspects removed a snowplow from the ATV before driving it out of the garage, off the property and to a waiting truck.  The doors to the main house were also tampered with but no access was gained.  The ATV has license # 3C3275 and VIN 4XACH8A44A320614.
