A young man attended the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment to report a theft that occurred on February 25th at the Elliott Road Bus Exchange.  The man was having a phone conversation around 2:00 p.m., set his backpack on a bench, carried on his conversation and eventually walked away, forgetting the backpack.  A short time later he realized his mistake and returned for the bag, which had already disappeared.  The backpack contained a video game and a passport in his name, which is an unusually long one that should stand out.

CRIME:  BREAK AND ENTER

DATE:    February 25, 2017

RCMP FILE:  2017-9853

A building manager of a complex located on the 2000 block of Boucherie Road called West Kelowna RCMP to report a break and enter to the building occurring on February 25th some time after 10:00 p.m.  An unknown culprit entered the condo building by prying the electronic intercom box open at the front door.  He then proceeded to the 5th floor storage room where he broke the door lock and handle to enter the room.  The thief entered several of the secure locker areas and created a pile of expensive and easy-to-transport items.  The thief must have been scared off or planned to return later to collect the items as it seems nothing is missing from the lockers.  This has been a repeat occurrence at this particular building.
