CRIME: SEA CAN BREAK-INS
DATE: November 26, 2016
RCMP FILE: 2016-70332
Three properties in the Broadwater Road area of Oyama had break-ins that were discovered on November 26th. Two of the properties had sea cans used for storing seasonal boating items such as life jackets and inflatable toys entered. One of the storage containers also held kayaks, which the suspects removed and hid in some nearby bushes, most likely so they could return and take at a later date. The thieves pried open a window of a seasonal trailer on the third property, rummaged around but left empty-handed.

CRIME: THEFT OF TOOLS FROM VEHICLE
DATE: November 28, 2016
RCMP FILE: 2016-70602
A plumber on a service call at Save-On Foods on Main Street in Lake Country became a victim of theft when someone entered his parked van and made off with some tools on November 26th between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. The thief took a Makita tool kit and a Milwaukee tool kit. All tools had “Erfle” written in permanent marker on them.
Police recommend engraving property or taking photographs of items with serial numbers. Engraving deters thieves as it makes the property a little more difficult to sell, helps police with investigations and makes recovered property easier to return to rightful owners.
