CRIME:  BREAK AND ENTER TO GARAGE

DATE:    June 15, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-32814

West Kelowna RCMP were called to a home on the 3000 block of Webber Road at 6:22 a.m. on June 15th when the resident noticed his garage door open as he was leaving for work.  His quad, dirt bike, gun safe and a slew of other items were missing.   Neighbours were canvassed and it was discovered that one had heard a loud noise at 4:30 a.m. and looked out to see two men and a grey pickup in front of the residence.  The safe was later recovered on Glen Eagles Drive where a witness watched two men drop the empty safe out of the back of a truck onto the road and drive away.  The stolen guns include a .307 Lever Action Winchester, a .308 Savage (with a compass carved into the stock), a .270 Remington 700, a .30-06 Remington 700, a 12 gauge Remington shotgun, a.303 British rifle and an assortment of .22’s.  The ATV is a yellow 2001 500 cc Polaris Sportsman with VIN 4XACH50A61A500615 and BC license plate number 3B8931. The dirt bike is an orange 2006 KTM 250 SX with VIN VBKMXJ4386M003770 and BC license plate number 0C3865.  Many other articles were stolen including riding gear, fishing gear, tools and a Cummins 3000 watt generator.

CRIME:  ROBBERY

DATE:    June 20, 2016

RCMP FILE:  2016-33919

A man attended the West Kelowna RCMP Detachment at approximately 3 a.m. on June 20th to report that he had just been robbed at knife point by three men at the corner of Old Okanagan Highway and Apollo Road in downtown West Kelowna.  The man had missed his ride and was walking to his destination when he heard voices approaching.  He started walking in the opposite direction to avoid a confrontation but to no avail.  One of the men produced a knife, while another told him they were going to take his stuff and then punched him in the jaw with his left hand.  They stole his laptop bag that held several laptops and another pack bag before departing south on Apollo Road.  The first man is described as being a slim First Nations male in his early 20’s, 5’6” tall, left-handed and wearing a black ball cap, a red bandana around his neck and a red, black and white jacket.  The second man is a thin First Nations man in his 30’s, approximately 5’7” tall with a thin mustache and slicked back hair.  The third man, also First Nations, was younger (17-20 years old), 160 pounds and approximately 6’ tall.
